Mookie Betts hit a home run. The Los Angeles Dodges star, 28, is engaged to Brianna Hammonds, his girlfriend of 15 years.
“Brianna has been by my side since we were teenagers,” Betts told People. “Together we’ve grown mentally, physically, and spiritually. She is my best friend, mother of my child, my lover, and my soon-to-be wife.”
The longtime couple first met in middle school. They share one child together, a daughter named Kynlee, who was born in 2018.
Betts, who is coming off a World Series win in his first season with the Dodgers, proposed with a radiant cut, 7-carat diamond in Nashville, Tenn.
“Winning another World Series was great, but putting a ring on my MVP is the real blessing!” he told the publication. “I am a blessed man.”
Over the summer, Betts was traded away by the Red Sox and signed a huge 12-year, $365 million extension with the Dodgers that came with a $65 million signing bonus.
Perhaps his first stop was the jewelry store to pick out his fiancée’s bling.
