Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC),Abdulrasheed Bawa, has intimated that he cannot reveal the financiers behind the Boko Haram terrorist group.
Recall that the authorities of the United Arab Emirates listed six Nigerians among those funding terrorism.
Abdulrasheed Bawa was asked to react to the news of the sponsors of terrorism in an interview on Channels TV.
Abdulrasheed Bawa made it clear that due to the sensitive nature of the information, it cannot be shared to the general public.
In his words: “If you are my adviser will you advise me to come on national television to tell the whole world regarding matters of sensitive national security issue?, Certainly, not. But what I want to assure you we are working tirelessly with other sister agencies to ensure that this country is free of terrorism.
Meanwhile, Abdulrasheed Bawa, recently disclosed that he felt dizzy while giving a speech at the presidential palace in Abuja due to dehydration.
Many people were alarmed when the anti-graft agency’s chairman grew dizzy while giving a speech at an event in the presidential house.
Bawa remarked on Channels TV this evening that his physicians said his disorientation was caused by dehydration.
“While giving my goodwill message during the programme organised by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), there was a sort of dizziness on me and I had to excuse myself from the stage.
And of course I went straight to the hospital where the doctors confirmed to me that everything about me is okay except for the fact that I’m a bit dehydrated and need to take a lot of water.
Straight away from the hospital, I went back to the office and now I’m back at home.”
